Summary:
Support the Bank customers' import, export, and other trade activities through servicing of commercial letters of credit, standby letters credit, and other trade products to ensure accuracy and completeness in accordance with UCP600, ISP98, and URC522, and ISBP745.
Support system conversion and participate User Acceptance Testing to validate the system quality and the process meets the Bank's requirements for efficiency, accuracy, and compliance.
Assist lending officers with customers'/prospects' inquiries related to trade products and services, especially promoting standby letters of credit for the Bank.
Essential Functions:
Trade Activities (60%) Utilize international trade-specific procedures, rules, guidelines and regulations to perform all functions related to import letters of credit, export letters of credit, and sequential duties, i.
e.
process transactions for import issuance, amendment, documents examination, air releases, shipping guarantees, acceptances, and payments; for export advising, transfer letters of credit, assignment of proceeds, negotiations, usance discount etc.
Monitor and update marine cargo insurance policies to ensure the coverage is appropriate and effective.
Retrieve, create, send, and release messages using the SWIFT system in a timely manner.
Conduct daily review of entries posted to DDA and G/L in the operating system and process the interface into the core system.
Provide responses and documentation to inquiries and ad hoc requests for trade products.
Operation Servicing (40%) Review and approve transactions processed by junior staff and provide support, training, and guidance to ensure completeness, accuracy, and conformance to the established high quality service levels and applicable policies and procedures, governing laws, and regulations in order to mitigate the Bank's risks.
Participate in various UAT objectives/activities, including but not limited to:
verify system set up for transactions and user access, confirm use of system while executing business process, verify integrity of converted and additional data, and verify the operational workflow are maintained properly.
Prepare/Review sample language for standby letter of credit requests, distribute various monthly reports, and monitor SBLC with evergreen clause.
Communicate and provide support to business units, cultivate strong customer relationships by ascertaining service needs to interact effectively and efficiently or promote trade products and services to prospect.
OTHER
Responsibilities:
Successfully complete all mandatory training on related Bank and BSA compliance as well as other laws and regulations as assigned in a timely manner.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Education, Experience and Skills Required:
5
years of trade operations experience required, experience in a commercial bank strongly preferred.
Comprehensive knowledge of Uniform Customs and Practice for Documentary Credits (UCP600), International Standby Practices (ISP98), and Uniform Rules for Collections (URC522), International Standard Banking Practice for the Examination Documents under Documentary Credits (ISBP745), SWIFT, and governing regulations.
Ability to work independently and as well as a team player, be detail-oriented and analytical.
Ability to manage multiple tasks and duties as assigned, prioritize in a fast-paced deadline driven environment.
Strong leadership and problem-solving skills to direct, coach, motivate, and supervise staff to handle daily workload.
Strong understanding and knowledge of the US regulatory environment and framework, including OFAC, AML, BSA, and Anti-Boycott.
Good verbal and written communication skills, organizational skills, interpersonal skills, and customer service oriented.
Proficient with Microsoft Office - Outlook, Word, and Excel preferred.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Minimum mobility to work in an office setting; sit for prolonged period of times; operate office equipment including use of a computer keyboard; and reach with hands and arms.
Employees are occasionally required to walk and stand and lift and move records and documents weighing 30 pounds or less.

Compensation The base pay range for this position is USD $28/Hour - USD $32/Hour plus full benefits.
Exact offer will be determined based on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and location.
