Retail Store Assistant Manager

Primary Responsibility / Summary
Assists the Store Manager in efficient operation of a retail store; managing and leading store staff to achieve established goals for sales, production, customer service, payroll, safety and expense control.
An Assistant Store Manager must complete an in-depth in-house training program before working as an Assistant Store Manager.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities?
1. Maintains excellent customer and staff relations.?
2. Maintains sales floor presentation.?
3. Performs accurate operations of a cash register when needed and reconciles receipts/cash and? ? ?prepares bank deposits.?
4. Leads and encourages store staff.? In the absence of Store Manager performs limited supervisory duties.?
5. Provides staff training; assign specific duties and follow-up.?
6. Maintains store equipment in proper working order.?
7. Maintains excellent housekeeping standards.?
8. Manages production of goods from store and DC donations including sorting and pricing.?
9. Maintains the back room and donation area?
10. Provides a safe environment for customers and employees?
11. Loads and unloads trucks occasionally, moving in excess of 25 lbs. at times.?
12. Works flexible shifts and overtime when needed.?

Additional Duties & Responsibilities?
1.Performs necessary janitorial work
2.Other duties and special projects as assigned.

Education & Experience
?High school diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred.
?Min 2 year of retail store experience required.?
?Good communication and people skills.
?Demonstrated maturity and leadership skills in leading entry-level employees.
?Abilities to work with minimal supervision; self-starter is a plus.
?Excellent customer relations skills.
?PC proficient.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
